Egyptian security officials eliminated 17 terrorists involved in an explosion in central Cairo on August 5. It is reported by Interfax with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.
According to the agency, all the militants were members of the Hasm group.
Police eliminated the terrorists during a special operation in Cairo and in the city of El Fayyum south of the capital.
According to recent reports, the explosion in Cairo killed 20 people and another 47 were injured.
Earlier, the Egyptian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a car that collided with other cars at the National Cancer Center in Cairo was mined.
